Published Aug 1, 2019 — #releases #good smile company #figures

During August 2019, Good Smile Company will be releasing 30 scale figures., some of which are new and some major re-releases. Here are 10 of the anime figures that we picked out for you.

Saber of “Red” -Mordred-: Fate/Apocrypha

Coming in with a sassy look and some daisy dukes and some bad boots is Modred (Saber) from the Fate series: Fate/Apocrypha. This figure features Saber wearing some more modern clothes in a bad girl style. It is also a blast from the past as it was originally released in 2015, then again in 2016 and now once again in 2019. If you missed the previous releases then this is the perfect time to yoink one off the digital store shelves.

Nana Astar Deviluke Bunny Ver.: To Love-Ru Darkness

It’s a bunny girl… surprise? Its Nana from To Love-Ru. A very interesting series to say the least, the To Love-Ru Darkness TV anime was released back in 2012 and still has various GIFs posted daily to this day. The figure was sculpted by Rei Azusa and features the very young and in some ways too young Nana Astar. It is part of the iconic B-STYLE series by FREEing, so you can find most of the other To Love-Ru girls in their bunny outfits as well.

Jibril: No Game No Life

It is ideal for most people to get a gamer girl in their life. This is a piece of plastic, but you can pretend. Jibril, from No Game No Life, is now available in figure form posing with a book or a skull if you’d like. You can choose how she looks with her swappable parts and expressions. You can pick her soft reading expression or her more bruiting skull-admiring expression, whichever pleases your senses. The piece was sculpted by Koudai Abe (Fenrir) and painted by Maimocchi — both artists teamed up to make a stunning piece.

  • Specifications: 1/7th scale ABS&PVC. Approximately 130mm in height.

Shimakaze: Kantai Collection -KanColle-

From the B-STYLE series by FREEing, just as the Nana Astar Bunny Ver. figure from earlier, we have Shimakaze from the famous Japanese video game adapted into anime Kantai Collection. She features an elegant pastel paint work done by who knows because nobody lists them anymore. And it is also super tall standing at roughly 450mm, making her the tallest figure today. She was sculpted by Grizzly Panda who gave a cartoonesque feeling to both the girl and the robots surrounding her.

  • Delayed until August 2019
  • Specifications: 1/4th scale PVC. Approximately 450mm in height.
  • Pricing/Buy: Shimakaze @ setsuya.com

Kanade Tachibana - Haregi Ver: Angel Beats!

From the critically acclaimed anime series Angel Beats comes a re-run of Kanade Tachibana. This figure was released back in 2018 but, due to the high demand, it will be back in August 2019. Tenshi (Kanade Tachibana) was sculpted by Tomogomahu and painted by Ekoshi. This is one of those figures where the paintwork shines, the patterns on the yukata are eye-candy, and I bet it looks even better in person.

Eriri Spencer Sawamura: Saekano- How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend

Saekano girl Eriri Spencer comes back from 2015 for a re-release. She looks just as good as she did back then, but for the people who missed it, here is the run down. She was sculpted with love and care by SOYOKUSHA. Her glasses and jacket can be removed to give her a different feel. There's also a blush variant for her face and there are some little accessories that can be placed around her, like the box and clothing.

Kaede Takagaki Sweet Princess Ver.: THE IDOLM@STER

Our final idol and anime figure of August is from the anime THE IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls, Kaede Takagaki. Kaede is here with a sweet treat for all her adoring fans. This sweet version of Kaede was sculpted by KIMA (LISASAYS) and painted by Noa, an outstanding duo as the curves and frills of the clothing prove. If the previous idol was a bit too young for your tastes than this mature looking woman will for sure be a great treat for your desk.
