Published Jun 20, 2019 — #releases #good smile company #figures

During the month of July 2019, Good Smile Company will be releasing 37 scale figures, most of which are new with a few re-releases. Here are the top 10 anime figures to look out for.

Ryuko Matoi Bunny Ver.: Kill la Kill

In a cute and sexy bunny outfit we present Ryuko Matoi from Kill la Kill. Kill la Kill was a hit anime when it came out and has a highly anticipated video game in the works (that will be released on July 26, 2019). There is no information available on the painter, but the sculptor is Genei. This anime figurine is sure to satisfy anybody who is into bunny girls or Kill la Kill.

Chino & Rabbit Dolls: Is the Order a Rabbit?

The character featured in this figure looks cute in a much purer way. This is Chino and she is followed by some of her rabbit friends. The figure features seven fluffy friends and Chino herself. Ikurie sculpted the characters and Graham Mask painted them; their team work really makes the figure shine. If you are a fan of Chino, rabbits, or just cute things in general this is a must buy.

Ai-chan: Getsuyoubi no Tawawa

Ai-chan, from the Twitter web manga gone anime Getsuyoubi no Tawawa, springs into our world as a figurine. The beautifully detailed skirt stands out and she is certainly on the bustier side of things, which is sure to amuse a certain demographic. If you are a fan of Getsuyoubi no Tawawa (Tawawa on Monday) or large bosoms then you should buy this on a Monday.

  • Delayed until August 2019
  • Specifications: 1/7th scale ABS&PVC. Approximately 260mm in height.
  • Pricing/Buy: Ai-chan @ setsuya.com

Sakura Shinguji: Sakura Wars

Sakura Shinguji is here to bring rain justice upon all of us. Sakura Shunguji from Sakura Wars (based on illustrations by Hidenori Matsubara) is here to join the real world as a 1/9th scale figurine. She stands atop a Kubo robot at around 185mm with a striking pose, that katana in her hand, and those thighs of justice. The unknown sculptor collaborated with the painter Ayumu Itsukaichi. Really minimalist on the paint job it seems, but it works just fine.

Kurose Riku: TEN COUNT

This is what happens when I don’t choose the featured figures, we get swole men in black suits with bondage toys. But maybe that’s your thing? From TEN COUNT comes Kurose Riku. Without going into too much detail I have to say it… this dude is ripped. He is also at a towering 280mm at 1/8th scale — I did the math: that makes this guy almost 2.2 meters tall (with the bunny ears). This long and tall boy’s abs were chiseled out by Kohirou and painted by Ayumi Itsukaichi.

Utaha Kasumigaoka: Saekano

Ever wanted a figure of a cute anime girl in the middle of getting naked? The answer is yes; don’t lie. Utaha Kasumigaoka is here to deliver that dream to us all. From Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend, the best girl Utaha. There isn’t much more to say about this figure. It is an anime girl taking her clothes off sculpted by Manabu Katou. Buy it, she is taking her clothes for you to buy it.

Saber/Alteia Pendragon (Lily): Fate/Grand Order

The sculpter M@ito brings us a beautiful rendition of Saber, from Fate/Grand Order. This figurine has a really great pose that lets you see a lot of the detail in the dress and sword. Especially the detailed paint work on the sword done by Ekoshi. This figure is sure to please any Saber or Fate fan.

Avenger/Jeanne d’Arc (Alter) Dess Ver.: Fate/Grand Order

In a Fate/Grand Order streak, this one figure is Jeanne d’Arc with an amazing purple and red dress that really pops out. The canonized warrior smirks confidently, enthralled by her curvy mane. She was sculpted by Nakayaman and painted by Hajime Akimoto, who did a bright job on the dress.

Caster/Gilgamesh: Fate/ Grand Order

What tomfoolery is this? Who put not one, but two anime men into this list? I guess we're trying to hit our figure equality quota here. Caster/Gilgamesh is here, based on his third ascension illustration from the Fate/Grand Order mobile game. The designs on the book and axe make it look like an ancient sacred weapon. He also has some stylish pants and abs which anybody can appreciate. It was sculpted by Nanako and painted by Hajime Akimoto, who did another great job.

Lancer/Altria Pendragon: Fate/Grand Order

It is time for the big girl, the absolute unit of this month’s batch, Lancer/Altria Pendragon. This figure flaunts a 500mm stature at only 1/8th scale, featuring Altria riding her horse with her holy lance. It goes without saying that this figure right here is epic. It was sculpted by POLY-TOYS and painted by Iwabitsu. If you are a huge Fate fan and want a HUGE Fate figurine for your desk, this is the one to go. It’s a bit pricey, but the figure speaks for itself.
